Here are a few more of our favourite places…

For brunch or a little break

L’ AUTRE SALON DE THE

Où s'arrêter pour un goûter
For brunch or a little tea break

Our usual haunt on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons. There’s a lovely little terrace overlooking the pedestrian street “des remparts”. Teas, Coffees, creamy hot chocolates, and a superb assortment cakes and the scones…

ANY TEAS

This charming Tea room is at the end of Passage Sarget, and sitting at the table, you can enjoy the calm and cosy atmosphere of the Passage and the magnificent view over the Place du Chapelet, if it’s nice day sit on the terrace. It’s close to the Baroque Notre Dame church and Mably court.

 KARL

Situated on Parlament Square, it does brunches and great sharing platters. It’s bright and good for people watching.

Le BOUCHON BORDELAIS

A hidden gem on the corner of rue de “pont aux mouches” (rue pont de la Mousque) between the Grand Theatre and Parliament Square. We love it, the cellar setting, the kindness of the staff and the superb menu with a modern taken on french classics. The whole place is about the size of our dining room with no more than 20 tables, so book!

  • Bordeaux, the perfect base for touring/exploring A town both lively and relaxed with it’s Boutiques, restaurants, culture it has a certain quality of life that many would be envious of. Day trips are easy even on public transport . The train station has daily departures to Arcachon and St Emilion, only 1 hour away. Personal advice: When going to Arcachon by car, choose your timings carefully! Leave in the morning (even late morning) and don’t come back until after dinner.
